This registration session will allow you to sign consents, complete contact information and submit payment. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Checking account information available. Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account from Prior Lake Wrestling Club.
What nights are practices?
1st Session (Beginners): Tuesday & Thursday from 5:45 - 6:30pm. Kids are encouraged, but not mandated, to attend all practices. $100
2nd Session (Intermediate): Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:35 - 7:30pm $125
3rd Session (Advanced): Monday 7-8:30pm; Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:35 – 8:45pm. $150
*All practices are at the Prior Lake High School in the wrestling room (upstairs behind the main gym)
What session should I sign up for*?
Beginners: This is for kids in their first year of wrestling, or in 1st grade or below.
Intermediate: This is for kids with a minimum of 1-2 years experience AND are in 2nd grade or older. (Exceptions will be made to this group based on evaluation).
Advanced: This is for kids with 3+ years of competitive experience (MN/USA State tournament or at the National level) AND are in 3rd grade or older. (Exceptions will be made to this group based on evaluation).
When does the season start and stop?
Practices start on Monday, November 12th (for 3rd Session) or Tuesday, November 13th (1st & 2nd Session) and will continue through March 7th. There will be several days/weeks through the winter where practice won’t take place due to school breaks and holidays. However, these will be communicated throughout the season.
After March 7th, there will be Freestyle/Greco season that lasts through mid-May for those that wish to continue. Parents have the opportunity to sign up at a discounted price ($25) during our fall registration period. This price will go up to $50 during the season.

What is the Freestyle/Greco season?
After the MN USA State tournament (March 8-10, 2019), Freestyle/Greco practices will be offered and will run through May. Kids have an opportunity to sign up for this offering at a discounted price during the registration process.
Can parents watch practices?
*YES. We encourage parents to watch their kids. In addition, any parents that want to assist with coaching (you do not need to be an expert to help with smaller groups). To help with distractions, any parents with siblings of wrestlers may be asked to take their children out into the hallway.
*Monday nights (3rd Session) parents will be asked to stay out of the wrestling room.
What is the fundraising deposit?
The Prior Lake Wrestling Club is able to keep our registration cost very low by having the participants support our annual coupon book sale (Saturday, November 17th). There will be 1-2 days out of the year where the wrestlers from the youth, middle and high school programs come together to participate in our event. The fundraising check is shredded once the requirement is fulfilled.
What is the volunteer deposit?
The Prior Lake Youth Wrestling Club is operated 100% by volunteers. To support our club, each family is asked to volunteer 6 hours throughout the year. The volunteer hours can be in one or more of the following areas:
What does my child need to wear for practices?
We recommend your wrestler wear wrestling shoes, socks, gym shorts and t-shirt. Gym shoes (mostly worn inside) are acceptable as well. Headgear is also highly recommended during live wrestling drills. The PLWC will supply headgear as part of the equipment deposit.
When do matches/tournaments take place?
The club will post sign-up sheets for all up-in-coming individual and team tournaments schedules as they become available during practices. Tournaments are typically on Saturdays and Sundays.

Does the program offer scholarships?
Yes. The Prior Lake Wrestling Club does offer scholarships, and follows the same guidelines as the school lunch assistance program. If you have questions, please email Jon Mikolyzk at email@example.com for more information.
