Can parents watch practices?

1st & 2nd session - yes, but to help cut down on distractions please keep chatting to a minimum & any parents with siblings of wrestlers may be asked to take their children out into the hallway. If you are going to be in the room, please help the coaches with any behavior issues that may arise with your child.

3rd session - No, only wrestlers & coaches will be in the room.

**In addition, any parents that want to assist with coaching please make sure to click "yes" when the question is asked during this registration process.

What is the fundraising deposit?

The Prior Lake Wrestling Club is able to keep our registration cost low by having the participants support our annual coupon book sale -  Saturday, November 16th.  This is the one day out of the year where the wrestlers from the youth, middle and high school programs come together to participate in our event.  This event is about 4 hours long. The fundraising check is shredded once the requirement is fulfilled.

PLEASE put Saturday, November 16th on your calendar - more information will be emailed to you as the date gets closer!

What is the volunteer deposit?

The Prior Lake Youth Wrestling Club is operated 100% by volunteers.  To support our club, each family is required to volunteer 4 hours throughout the year. The volunteer check is shredded once the requirement is fulfilled. The volunteer hours can be in one or more of the following areas:

       ●    Prior Lake Wrestling Tournaments – Our 2 tournament days are December 15thJanuary 4th these are the easiest way to fulfill your hours.

●     Mat washing before practices.

What does my child need to wear for practices?

We recommend your wrestler wear wrestling shoes, socks, gym shorts and t-shirt.  Gym shoes (mostly worn inside) are acceptable as well.  Please no necklaces, earrings or other jewelry. Headgear is also highly recommended during live wrestling drills.  The PLWC will supply headgear as part of the equipment deposit.

When do matches/tournaments take place?

Tournaments are typically on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekly emails will let you know which tournaments will have coaches at them.
